SHUANGLIN VALVE | Brass Foot Valve with Strainer, DN15–DN100

Every suction-side pump system depends on one small but critical component: the foot valve. Without it, a pump loses its prime every time it stops, and debris from the water source can quickly damage the impeller. SHUANGLIN VALVE's brass foot valve solves both problems in a single, durable fitting — combining a spring check mechanism with a protective slotted strainer cage, built for wells, tanks, ponds, and irrigation intakes.

Built to Keep Your Pump Primed

The valve is installed at the very end of the suction pipe, submerged below the water surface. Its round brass body houses an internal check valve that opens under suction and closes the instant the pump stops — trapping water in the line so the pump doesn't need to re-prime on every start. Surrounding the inlet, a slotted brass strainer cage keeps out leaves, sand, and larger debris before they ever reach the check mechanism, while still allowing free water flow.

SHUANGLIN VALVE manufactures this foot valve in sizes from DN15 to DN100, with a female-threaded bottom connection sized to match standard suction pipe and hose fittings used worldwide.

What Sets This Foot Valve Apart

  • Round brass body with slotted strainer cage — sturdier than mesh screens for handling larger debris without clogging

  • Internal check valve keeps the suction line primed between pump cycles, reducing wear on the pump motor

  • Female thread inlet for direct connection to standard suction pipe or hose adapters

  • Solid brass construction resists corrosion in fresh water, well water, and pond environments

  • Full DN15–DN100 range covers everything from small garden pumps to larger irrigation and industrial suction systems

  • Compact, self-contained design — no separate strainer or check valve needs to be installed

Typical Installation Points

  • Bottom of a well or borehole suction pipe

  • Submerged in ponds, tanks, or open water sources for irrigation pumps

  • Inlet of agricultural and garden water pump systems

  • Suction lines for jet pumps and centrifugal pumps

Foot Valve vs. Check Valve: What's the Difference?

A standard check valve only prevents backflow — it's usually installed mid-line or at the pump outlet. A foot valve does the same job but adds a strainer, and it's specifically designed to sit fully submerged at the intake end of a suction line. If your pump draws water directly from a well, tank, or pond, a foot valve is the correct choice; if you're protecting a section of pipe elsewhere in the system, a standard check valve (see our Vertical Check Valve range) is more suitable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my pump lose prime without a foot valve? Without a foot valve, water in the suction line drains back to the source every time the pump shuts off, leaving air in the line. The pump then has to re-prime before it can draw water again, which wastes time and adds wear.

Can this foot valve be left submerged permanently? Yes. It's designed to remain submerged in the water source at all times — this is how it keeps the suction line primed and the strainer actively filtering incoming water.

What sizes are available? SHUANGLIN VALVE produces this foot valve from DN15 up to DN100, covering small residential pump systems through larger irrigation and industrial applications.

Is OEM branding available for bulk orders? Yes, we support custom branding, packaging, and size specifications for bulk and OEM/ODM orders — contact us with your requirements for a quotation.
