One Valve, Two Thread Types

This mixed-thread configuration is particularly useful in retrofit work, where the existing pipework on either side of a planned shut-off point often doesn't match. Rather than sourcing separate adapters to standardize the threads before installing a valve, the FxM configuration lets the valve itself bridge the gap — female side toward whichever fitting already has male threads, male side toward whichever fitting is already female.
